Jim Tucker: Wallabies Name Squad for All Blacks Clash, James Slipper

Martin Devlin
Drive Talkback Host & Contributing Writer
Posted 19 September 2024

Jim Tucker - former Australian sports writer and now working for the Queensland Reds - joins Martin Devlin on It's Only Sport, discussing the Wallabies side named to play the All Blacks in the first of two rugby tests in Sydney this weekend.

Australian coach Joe Schmidt has made a number of changes to the team that was thrashed by Argentina, including naming Fraser McReight and Hunter Paisami to start. The main talking point though is the inclusion of veteran prop James Slipper on the bench, who will become the most capped Wallaby of all-time with 140 tests to his name.

Tucker talks to Devlin about all the key selections, areas the Wallabies can better the All Blacks at including the lineout, and more.

Martin Devlin is a veteran New Zealand radio and television broadcaster.
